CRYSTAL LAKE & VCTMS COLLIDE ON SAN ANTONIO’S MAINSTAGE

Twin Productions brought together a hard-hitting night of international and underground metalcore on Sunday, July 13, at The Rock Box in San Antonio. The bill was topped by Japan’s Crystal Lake, co-headlining with VCTMS, whose recent run across U.S. venues has been marked by a string of sold-out rooms and fan-fueled support.
The lineup also included Not Enough Space, Face Yourself, and Left IV Dead. Doors opened to a steady crowd already primed from word-of-mouth and anticipation, with many attending to see Crystal Lake following their recent return to U.S. stages after lineup shifts and pandemic-era setbacks.
The band’s global momentum was detailed in an April 2025 article from USC Annenberg Media, which chronicled their L.A. set alongside Hanabie, highlighting how both acts serve as cultural exports of modern Japanese heavy music source.
Sunday’s show in San Antonio echoed those same dynamics—precision, aggression, and a communal release. While Crystal Lake brought technical devastation to the stage, VCTMS’s set leaned into crowd intimacy. The two styles converged into a full-spectrum release that defined the night.
The Rock Box continues to serve as one of the few Texas venues that platform niche and emerging acts alongside global veterans. Twin Productions remains central in curating these lineups across the city, spotlighting everything from metalcore to hardcore to crossover noise.
